Fel’tyr was born on the Bothan homeworld and had a relatively normal childhood among the people, enaging in the games of diplomacy, treachery, and backstabbing that allowed the young to succeed as adults.  Unfortunately, however, his own talents lay in a different field.  He had always been something of a technological wizard.  Even when he was only a few years old he had been dismantling things.  Of course, the hard part, putting them back together, he never really grasped.

After an unfortunate incident involving the High Chancellor’s landspeeder and a number of missing parts that somehow ended up on the black market, Fel’tyr suddenly became inspired to take a job off-planet.  And so he ended up hastily accepting a position as Chief Tech Officer onboard the Woody Mammoth bound for Kashyyk.

The voyage there was short, interrupted only briefly by a small band of pirates who had gotten their hands on a small interdictor ship.  After a quick scan revealed their lack of cargo, they were let free, with a dire warning to “never cross the path of the Black Fleet again”, or next time they wouldn’t be so lenient.

The ship landed on a seemingly uninhabited portion of Kashyyk and began its work, harvesting the rare hardwoods from the giant trees that covered most of the planet.  Before long, the sounds of their tools and machinery drew unwanted attention – the wookies.

They attacked at night, destroying most of the logging equipment and damaging the ship beyond repair.  Many of the loggers tried to form a barrier around the ship and fight off the wookies, but between their giant size, well-crafted bowcasters, and knowledge of the terrain, and being severaly outnumbered, the wookies easily were able to break through their line.  Most of the defenders were tossed out of the trees, to land many minutes later on the forest floor.  Hearing the fighting outside, Fel’tyr cowardly hid within an equipment case, hoping nobody would notice.

After destroying the defenses, the wookies stripped the ship of anything they could use to trade and stored the supplies in a small hollow in their nearby city.  For many weeks Fel’tyr stayed with the supplies, surviving off of what was in the hollow with him, and hiding when anyone came near.  From watching and listening to the wookies from within his hideout, he began to pick up the language.

As he picked up the language, he started to consider coming out to talk to the wookies, to try to negotiate for his life, and maybe a way off planet.  But then, disaster struck.

He was sitting in the hollow as normal, listening to the conversations from without, when a ship descended from the sky, a big, bubbly, organic looking thing.  It landed on a scorched spot on one of the trees, and opened up several doors.  Wookies started toward the supply shed, and Fel’tyr hid back inside his crate.  A few minutes later, the crate lifted, among wookie grunting.  There was a large clang, and then all was silent.

After a bit, he felt the sensation of lift, and low, burbling voices around him.  The crate fell open, and he stared at three brown, fishlike creatures with whiskers next to their mouths.  They stared back.  He kept staring.  One of them tentatively pointed at him, looked at the other two, and made a questioning burble.

A few failed interrogations later, the Mon Calamari left him in a makeshift brig and forgot about him.  Once more, Fel’tyr’s knack for learning languages kicked in, and before long he was able to exchange pleasantries with the passing creatures.  He learned that the ship was called the Mrrglrrgleck, bound for Correlia.  They planned to drop him off there and leave him.

The next day, they were forced out of hyperspace by a stolen interdictor cruiser, and hailed by the Black Fleet’s captain.  After scanning them and finding their cargo to be the valuable water aeration devices that the Calamari homeworld produces so well, the captain ordered them to prepare to be boarded.  The Mon Calamari, a peaceful people by nature, had an unarmed ship, and seemed to have no choice.

Hearing what was going on, Fel’tyr begged to be allowed to use one of the ship’s computers before the pirates boarded.  The calamari reluctantly agreed, but kept him under careful supervision.

Outside, the pirate’s shuttle, full of ambitious and bloodthirsty soldiers, began to fly in circles, and eventually changed course and flew into the system’s sun.  He opened a comm channel to Bloody Cass, the Black Fleet’s captain, and taunted her as the cargo carrier fled into hyperspace.

Several days later, the Mrrglrrgleck landed on Correlia, and dropped off its cargo, as well as Fel’tyr.  For his help dealing with the pirates, he was given a small cut of the cargo’s worth and let loose on Correlia. He managed to make it five hours before being tossed into prison for playing with a rich trader’s home security system.

And that is where he remains today.

Hilarious! And I actually have a player character to chat in Shriiwook with!

"He learned that the ship was called the Mrrglrrgleck, bound for Correlia."

They're not murlocks...

*Grin* Nah, but that was during a WoW stint for most of us, so I figured people'd find it funny.

And so, with a grin of smug satisfaction, the powerful illusionist strode by the body of his fallen foe, intoning but a single word, heavy with meaning and power.
"Mew."
